The idea for  Glass Cage Cabaret came when two North East artists noticed that there was nowhere in the city of Sunderland that offered an immersive cabaret experience. Performers and audiences alike have to travel far out of the city to find anything similar - and we wanted to change that!

Glass Cage aims to give local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents in a setting inspired by old-style music halls of the Victorian age: a place where audiences can eat, drink, enjoy good company and revel at performances from the regions best talent! Prepare to be dazzled by our fabulous display of circus, music, comedy, drag, burlesque and more!

A lifelong lover of all things theatrical and dramatic, Autumn Ruth started her journey into the world of performing arts in 2014 at the age of 18. After spending a few years training as a burlesque dancer, she then embarked on a year long course in Circus and Performing Arts. It was during this time that she discovered her love of aerial arts - specifically aerial silks. Since then, she has taken any opportunity to take to the skies!

Autumn Ruth has performed at a few events throughout the North East over the past few years, but she founded  Glass Cage Cabaret to showcase her creativity and work in her hometown, whilst also offering opportunities to other like-minded individuals.

Circus artist Emma Rose Bloomfield has been performing and teaching aerial and circus since 2009, specialising in dynamic aerial rope. She is greatly inspired by her North Eastern heritage and is committed to developing the aerial and circus community of the region. So when Autumn approached her with the idea of Glass Cage Cabaret she was absolutely on board! When Emma is not flying high on her rope she enjoys gardening, walking her dog Doc, and reading gothic thrillers.

Emma Rose also runs Bloom Aerial, a community of aerial enthusiasts who love to fly high and push the limits of what they can do in the air. Visit their website at
